Each year the Jansen Art Foundation holds 2 large painting sales to benefit the renovation of the Sidney Fine Art Center. The Sidney Fine Art Center is a free to use public building donated by our Jansen Art Foundation. It holds classes and espositions to benefit local and international artists. Built in 1918 as a Methodist Church, the center is one of the more majestic building is Sidney, Nebraska. Our hope is over the next 5 years to return this building to it's time of glory. It is going to take a lot of effort and time to do this.
In the future we will be hosting free painting classes and events to benefit local and international artists. Big dreams!
A lot of plaster, moulding and painting changes the looks in the rooms. We want to keep the older feeling while also upgrading some of the looks with modern colors and wood tones. The building is in very poor condition so this will take a lot of effort.
There are 28 rooms in the Sidney Fine Art Center so this is going to take some time and effort.
Not only is this a beautiful building, but it is also a very important part of the history of the short grass prairie in the panhandle of Nebraska. With your support we will begin some larger renovation in the Winter of 2023 or early Spring of 2024. This will inclued new Heating and Air Conditioning throughout the building. There is none at this time.
Our plan is to assist in revitalizing the downtown and hold many expositions as well as free classes. We will also be using this building to continue our free online classes and youtube channel. We your support we will be able to bring back the beautiful building that is the Sidney Fine Art Center.
